Trump suggested that some of these workers could legally return to the United States if they first leave the country and are later vouched for by American farmers.

“We’re going to work with farmers … for certain people, that we’re going to let them stay in for a while and work … and then come back and go through a legal process,” Trump stated.

A Workforce at Risk: Half of U.S. Farm Labor Is Undocumented
