Where Do Rodeo Champions Ride
The best of the best Saddle Bronc Riders from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) find themselves congregating in one location on August 5th for The 67th Annual Home On The Range Champions Ride Saddle Bronc Match. The Champions Ride is steeped in the history of the sport of rodeo along with tradition and giving back to those in need.
Over the last six decades, this Match has been deemed the premier Saddle Bronc competition. Top-rated cowboys and broncs have made historical rides, many of those considered as the “Who’s Who” of rodeo. Past well-known champions including Jim Tescher, Larry Mahan, Lewis Field, Brad Gjermundson, Robert Etbauer, Ty Murray, Dan Mortensen, Cody Wright, and Rod Hay are just to name a few. Last year current Saddle Bronc standout, Zeke Thurston won the coveted Champions Ride Saddle Bronc Match.
A group of cowboys over 65 years ago saw the need to aid the non-profit Home On The Range, an organization helping abused, traumatized, and neglected teenage boys and girls. Today this still is the intent for these Rodeo Champions, to raise money for the Home On The Range organization.
